Huntington Dog Beach – this dog beach is tons of fun for both dogs and their human friends. This amazing spot, located just off the Pacific Coast Highway, is open from 5am until 10pm. There’s parking, bags, covered trash cans, and even a grassy area to enjoy a picnic. Of course, the main draw here is the sand and the surf! Hoodies and calendars are available on the website, with proceeds helping to maintain the park.

Riip Beer Company – down the beach from HDB, this popular spot is the perfect place for a refreshing beer after a day at the beach. Riip is extremely dog friendly, offers delicious crafted brews, and even has a home brew supply center!

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar – the Lazy Dog patio offers a relaxing atmosphere to have dinner with your favorite four-legged friend. Ingredients are sourced from local farmers when possible, and all the food is made in house. You’ll get quality time with your pup, you eat great too! If you are able to part with Fido one evening, the Lazy Dog even offers discounted tickets at a bunch of local movie theaters.

Huntington Central Park – not quite as hectic as its NYC namesake, Huntington’s dog friendly park is the perfect place to spend a sunny California day. Open daily from 6am to 10pm there is a smaller dog park located within the larger park, and is tons of fun. Be sure to check their website as there are lots of activities held at the park, including dog shows in the summers!

Hashigo Sushi – dogs and sushi may not be a combination that you think of very often, but at this local sushi spot, dogs are more than welcome on the patio. Enjoy daily specials, fresh rolls, and a lively atmosphere. The Bento boxes are also a huge hit along with the $3 special rolls that change daily.

Huntington Beach is pretty relaxed and dogs are typically welcome wherever there is outdoor seating, but it’s always smart to call ahead. Whether you are a local or just visiting, there’s plenty to keep both dogs and their owners busy in Surf City.
